Robert Kaplan, chief geopolitical analyst for Stratfor, met Dr. Valentin Naumescu, the founder and chair of Citadel, on the 1st of October 2014. They discussed the regional political situation in Central and Eastern Europe and several issues on the international agenda.
Robert Kaplan was a member of the Defense Policy Board at Pentagon, between 2009 and 2011, and was chosen in 2011 and 2012 by Foreign Policy Magazine among “Top 100 Global Thinkers”. He is the author of many books of international politics, among them The Balkan Ghosts (1993), The Revenge of Geography: What the Map Tells Us about Coming Conflicts and the Battle Against Fate (2010), Monsoon: The Indian Ocean and the Future of American Power (2012), or Asia’s Cauldron: The South China Sea and the End of a Stable Pacific (2014).
